Mohit Suri has not had a success since Aashiqui 2 smashed boxoffice records. While Ek Villain in 2014 scraped through to being an average earner,Suri’s most recent release Hamari Adhuri Kahaani was a disaster.
Now when Mohit Suri directs Half Girlfriend the film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s sappy novel about a Bihari boy’s courtship of a Delhi girl, one would expect a fierce dedication on location. Instead one hears of bitter arguments between Suri and his leading man Arjun Kapoor.
“They don’t see eye to eye on the sets at all.It started with minor arguments, built up into major heated altercations. Now Mohit and Arjun don’t speak at all,” says a source from the film’s core team.
This is a sticky situation not just for the film which needs to be completed , and completed successfully for Suri’s sake, but also for the leading lady Shradha Kapoor who finds herself caught in the crossfire between her leading man and director.
Of course everybody concerned would deny any problems on the sets. By the time the shooting is over Suri and Kapoor may start behaving like Jai and Veeru from Sholay. Until then the film’s producers have their fingers crossed.
