Assassination Classroom Gets Its Own Movie In 2026

When Assassination Classroom premiered in 2015, it quickly became one of the most unique and beloved anime of the decade. With its blend of comedy, action, and heartfelt lessons, the series stood out as more than just another shōnen. Now, a decade later, fans are finally getting what they’ve long dreamed of with a brand-new movie.

The film, titled Assassination Classroom The Movie: Minna no Jikan, is set to release in Japanese theaters on March 20, 2026, according to AnimeTV チェーン. Not only will it celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary, but it will also fill in missing stories from the anime adaptation, with the original voice cast returning to bring Class 3E and Koro-sensei back to life.

A Decade of Assassination Classroom

The original anime, produced by Studio Lerche, aired from 2015 to 2016 and adapted Yusei Matsui’s manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016. While the series ended years ago, its reputation has only grown stronger, with both the anime and manga maintaining a loyal following.

The new movie serves as the third and final installment of the Assassination Classroom franchise’s anniversary project. It’s designed not only as a celebration of the past but as a chance to bring fans unreleased material that never made it into the original broadcast. These additional stories will deepen the classroom experience while giving longtime viewers something fresh.

For many fans, Assassination Classroom stood out because it was more than just a battle of wits between students and their strange teacher. It was about growth, compassion, and learning under bizarre circumstances. The film’s release ensures that those timeless lessons can reach audiences in an exciting new way while honoring the original work.

Directed by Masaki Kitamura with a screenplay by Makoto Uezu, the upcoming film reunites much of the anime’s creative team. Aya Higami returns as character designer, while Studio Lerche once again handles the animation. This consistency ensures the movie will feel faithful to the series fans know and love.

The new Assassination Classroom film will adapt episodes that were skipped during the initial anime run, giving viewers a more complete version of the story. With the original cast reprising their roles, including Koro-sensei’s unforgettable presence, the movie promises to recapture the heart and energy that made Assassination Classroom so iconic.

Beyond the film, the anniversary celebrations include a nationwide rebroadcast of all 47 episodes of the anime, alongside a special radio program titled Assassination Classroom All Night Nippon GOLD. These projects highlight how influential the Assassination Classroom series remains even a decade later, with its humor, tension, and emotional depth still sticking with audiences worldwide.
