Ayushmann Khurrana has just completed a schedule of Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo with the formidable Amitabh Bachchan as his co-star.
And Ayushmann just can’t get over the experience. “It was a moment that I had waited for . He is my idol from the time I remember. I grew up watching his films, idolizing him. And now I finally got to work with him. It was an experience hard to put into words.”
Ayushmann has many reasons to admire Mr B. “The way he has adapted himself to the changing trends, re-invented himself as an actor …it’s what I’d strive for in my career.”
Gulabo Sitabo is a happy homecoming for Ayushmann. “I started my career with my mentor (director) ShoojitSircar and (writer) Juhi Chaturvedi in Vicky Donor. It has been a long while since Vicky Donor happened. But we wanted to find the right project to come together again.And Gulabo Sitabo is the project that finally seemed the right one after Vicky Donor.”
What kind of a film is Gulabo Sitabo?
“It is relevant to our times. I guess that’s going to be a constant factor in my films,” says Ayushmann.
