By now the entire world knows about Shah Rukh Khan’s midnight visit to the Roshan’s residence this week. Accompanied by producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Shah Rukh wanted to convince the Roshans’ film Kaabil to move out of the January 26 slot to leave the coast clear for Shah Rukh’s Raees.
But according to inside reports, the two parties hardly spoke about the impending clash.
“Most of the time that Shah Rukh spent with the Roshans was spent chatting with Rakeshji and Hrithik reminiscing about the time when they did King Uncle, Koyla and Karan Arjun together. However Shah Rukh did gently bring up the impending clash. But Rakeshji made it very clear that they were not moving out of their scheduled slot.”
Apparently Shah Rukh has now advised his Raees producers to move out of the clash zone.
“He has no choice, really. He has seen what a clash can do when last November he insisted on bringing his Dilwale on the same Friday as Bajirao Mastani. Considering that Raees is a very unorthodox Shah Rukh film and that his last two films have underperformed seriously, Shah Rukh can afford no risks. He has asked Ritesh Sidhwani to move Raees out of the January 26 slot.”
While Ritesh refused to comment Rakesh Roshan hinted at the change from the other end when he said to me, “I don’t know about them. But Kaabil is releasing on the 26 January.”
