Beloved Hallmark Channel Alums Holly Robinson Peete & Paul Greene Returning to Network

Good news, Hallmarkies! Two beloved Hallmark Channel alums — Holly Robinson Peete and Paul Greene — will return to the network in May 2025.

Robinson Peete, who’s starred in 15 Hallmark movies and the network’s reality show “Meet the Peetes,” hasn’t been in a Hallmark production since 2022’s “Holiday Heritage.” But she’ll return on May 3, co-starring with Ginna Claire Mason in the new Kentucky Derby-themed rom-com “Hats Off to Love.”

Meanwhile, Greene was another fan favorite for many years, starring in nearly a dozen Hallmark movies and 49 episodes of “When Calls The Heart” between 2015 and 2021, per IMDb. His Hallmark drought will end on May 10 with the premiere of “Love in the Clouds.”

Holly Robinson Peete Will Play a Louisville Socialite in New Hallmark Movie

After weeks of reports from extras and crew members who were part of the “Hats Off to Love” shoot in Tampa, Hallmark Channel confirmed on its website on April 2 that the movie — originally called “Derby Romance” — will premiere on May 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Robinson Peete has not publicly addressed her absence from Hallmark, but has had a busy couple of years traveling with friends, speaking, and co-hosting “Queens Court” with her husband, former NFL player Rodney Peete.

She was also swept up in a 2024 lawsuit filed by former Hallmark casting director Penny Perry, who accused Hallmark of ableism and ageism, including claims that execs wanted to replace its aging actresses, including Robinson Peete and Lacey Chabert. The “Morning Show Mysteries” alum never addressed getting name-dropped in the suit.

The actress seemed genuinely happy to be back filming with Hallmark in early 2025, sharing multiple posts while in Tampa. She and Mason seemed to also forge a close bond based on pics they took together. In photos Mason shared from the set, she called the actress “Holly, my sweet.”

According to Hallmark’s synopsis, Mason plays Stella, who designs hats and fascinators for Robinson Peete’s character, socialite Rosalind. Sparks fly when Stella meets her son Christian, played by Hallmark newcomer John Clarence Stewart, who’s training a horse to compete in the “Louisville Derby.”

Paul Greene Filmed New Hallmark Movie in New Mexico

Greene shared his movie news on April 3, noting that the movie, in which he co-stars with Hallmark newcomer McKenzie Westmore, “was shot in the all so enchanting New Mexico which totally swept us away.”

But Greene won’t be the only Hallmark alum for whom “Love in the Clouds” will mark a return to the network. The film also features Gail O’Grady, who won a Gracie Award for her role in 2022’s “Heart of the Matter.” Meanwhile, 80s heartthrob Lorenzo Lamas will make his Hallmark debut in the movie.

According to Hallmark’s synopsis, Westmore plays reporter Brooklyn, who travels to New Mexico’s Balloon Fiesta to meet hot air balloon pilot Jared, played by Greene, “who offers romantic balloon rides but is closed off to love himself.”

Many fans commented on Greene’s post about how happy they are to see him back on Hallmark, including one who wrote, “Yay!!! Can’t wait to see you back on our Hallmark screens!❤️”

Hallmark Channel’s “Love in the Clouds” premieres on May 10 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
