Bhumi Pednekar to move to Chambal

Bhumi Pednekar has had a spotless track record when it comes to success at the box office. Her debut vehicle, 2013’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha, earned approval from both critics and the audience alike, and she delivered two big hits this year — Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Now, the actor is set to begin work on her next film, which will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey.

For the film, Bhumi is taking the ‘method acting route’ to sink her teeth into her character. “She is getting into a ‘perfectionist’ mode, and so will be travelling to Chambal (Madhya Pradesh) early in December. She’ll be staying there for about a week to acclimatise herself with the environment, because she has no experience of living in such a rough terrain,” says a source.

The source adds that Bhumi came up with the idea to visit Chambal to prepare for the film, which also stars Sushant Singh Rajput. “She will live in Chambal and soak in the feel of the place before the shoot begins. For her, it will be a new way of getting into the skin of a character. She is excited about the film and wants to go all out to try and deliver a perfect performance,” says the source.

When contacted, Bhumi said, “I’m super excited to be working with Abhishek (Chaubey). I have always loved his work and am thrilled to be a part of this incredible movie. For an actor, his process is unique and extremely satisfying and liberating.”
