How Big Will Baahubali be?
The film trade is pinning humongous hopes on the boxoffice performance of S S Rajamouli’s Baahaubali 2 The Conclusion.
Says trade analyst Atul Mohan, “Though it’s not a long holiday weekend the opening would be the biggest ever.Earth Shattering! MIND BLOWING! UNHEARD!! Day 1 all languages combined should be more than 125 crores and the weekend collections should be 400 cr! Just look at the madness at the advance booking!! Tickets prices hiked. Number of screens increased. All shows full down south Its festival time without festival. Such should be the craze of cinema.Will make 300-350 crores over the weekend.”
Adds Amod Mehra, “The first day’s collection would be more than 20 crore rupees. It should make close to 75-80 crores over the weekend. It should be the fastest 100-croremaking film ever.”
Critic Raja Sen sees an astonishing weekend for Baahubali, “I’d say the overall numbers will be 40% more than the first film. We’re going to see something record-breaking, obviously. This will set a new benchmark.
Producer and censorboard chief Pahlaj Nihalani feels Baahubali 2 The Conclusion will break all previous records. “The advance booking for the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 is double of Dangal. Though ticket prices have been hiked to Rs 800 in some cities likeBangaluru, the theatres are all sold out.It’s opening in nearly 9,000 theatres across the country.I don’t think we’ll see a bigger release in India than this.”
