Gautam Ghose: “The Indian films released in 2017 are not up to the mark when compared with international standards. The exception isAmit Masurkar’s Newton a study of subaltern India. Hope 2018 will have a better crop of Indian films portraying our intolerance and uncivilized social matrix.”

Habib Faisal: “Mukti Bhawan, dealing with such a “grave” subject as death with tender irony, Newton , for its subject, themes, irony, humour, minimalistic craft and the meta-irony of coming out in a year where a blockbuster election happened with the ugliest possible form of politics on display.”
