“The Valley” is a Bravo show that has drawn considerable criticism now that it’s in its second season. However, things have gotten out of hand for Janet Caperna and her family. Now, the reality star has gone to great lengths to protect herself from harmful online detractors.

Sadly, for Janet, the online hate has gone farther than mean comments. Instead of people simply disliking her actions on “The Valley,” they’ve taken to issuing vile threats. Notably, Janet and her husband, Jason, have a young child.

According to Page Six, Janet Caperna has left the US in light of the various forms of hate she has received online. For now, she, her husband, and their child are spending their time in Europe in order to ensure their safety. It’s unclear how long they plan to stay.

While on the way to Europe, the “Valley” star also decided to shut down her social media accounts. This doesn’t mean she deleted it. Instead, her Instagram account, which has 70,000 followers, has been set to private. She previously blocked comments on the account, so this is a more drastic measure.

Notably, people’s hate for Janet Caperna on “The Valley” show led some to state that they knew where she lived. Someone even said they had information on her son and where he goes when he’s not with her. Naturally, this would be beyond concerning for anyone.

Janet continued, “That’s sick and not normal, and I’m not ever going to pretend it’s normal or acceptable to message strangers threats and slurs. It’s sad to me that people go this far, it’s definitely the worst part about this ‘job.’”

Janet Caperna went on to discuss some of the ways she’s going about protecting her family from the online trolls. She said, “I’m learning how to put boundaries on social media in place and learning as I go. I support healthy dialogue around reality TV and think some of the best conversations about modern culture stem from shows like ours.”

Janet added, “I’m far from perfect, and people are seeing the best and worst of all of us when we put our lives in front of cameras. My hope is people can have fun conversations about reality TV without going as far as some have recently.”
