In what would be regarded as an unprecedented gesture of goodwill, Akshay Kumar and the other producers of PadMan, R Balki and Prernaa Arora, have taken a decision to postpone the release of PadMan to accommodate the beleaguered Padmaavat.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting pm Friday afternoon between Padmaavat producers Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and the PadMan producers where Viacom “requested” that the other film move forward.
Says a source close to the development, “As a gesture of goodwill and to show solidarity with a troubled project Akshay Kumar has agreed to postpone the release of his PadMan from January 25 to February 9.”
And never mind if this entails losses for PadMan. As Akshay told Viacom, “It’s the least we can do to diminish your troubles.”
