While the fate of this week’s purported blockbuster Judwaa 2 remains unclear, all eyes are glued to next week’s battle royale between the Nawab Saif Ali Khan and the big Hollywood release Blade Runner 2049 which comes back as a sequel to the blockbuster Blade Runner released 38 years ago.
15 years of planning has given birth to the Blade Runner sequel. It is expected to be one of the biggest hits in recent times. While other Bollywood releases scheduled for October 6, namely Julie 2 and Aksar 2 have already scampered to a safer place, Raja Krishna Menon’s Chef, featuring Saif Ali Khan as a chef trying to piece together his broken life, stays stubbornly in place on October 6.
The director feels there is room for both the films. “I think there’s enough space for both films. Genre-wise they are chalk and cheese. So I don’t see the two films competing.”
