CBS Announces ‘Big Brother’ Season 27 Release Date & Big Changes

“Big Brother” is coming back this summer; and it’s not just bringing the drama, it’s bringing more of it. We previously reported that CBS and “Big Brother” love to tease the fandom when it comes to stuff like this. Luckily, this time it wasn’t a tease at all. CBS officially announced the “Big Brother” Season 27 premiere date with a cheeky Instagram video that gave the fandom exactly what they’ve been begging for… literally.
Fans can expect new episodes every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday when the new season premieres Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The summer of slop, showmances, and shady alliances is officially back… and this time, with a few game-changing upgrades.
The BB Interns Delivered
CBS didn’t just drop the release date; they gave us a moment. The announcement video (seen below) starts by flashing through real fan comments across social media, all begging for one thing: a premiere date. And then? We’re treated to a throwback-style nomination ceremony, but with a twist.
Each Houseguest is labeled as a corner of the “Big Brother” fandom: BB Twitter, BB Instagram FANS, BB Facebook Moms, BB Redditors, and more. The person turning the keys? They’re marked “The BB Interns,” and when they do, the nomination wall lights up with a date: July 10.
It’s weird. It’s meta. It’s so Big Brother. And don’t forget to peep that caption, which says it all.
New Format, New Content, Same Glorious Chaos
CBS wasn’t joking about the “more” part. For the first time in “Big Brother” history, this season will have “extended 90-minute Wednesday episodes,” all summer long, according to a recent CBS Press Release. These episodes will be “followed by hour-long shows on Thursdays – featuring live evictions – and Sundays.” That’s an extra 30 minutes of competitions, scheming, and probably someone crying over cold showers.
And don’t expect to see any familiar faces this season, at least not in the house. The press release confirmed that for the “premiere of its 27th season, Big Brother welcomes an all-new group of Houseguests into the Big Brother House,” shutting down All-Star rumors in one swoop.
But wait! Iit gets better. Fridays are joining the BB schedule too. CBS is also bringing fans an after-show (of sorts) for the first time ever. “Big Brother: Unlocked” will air on Fridays with “three BB All-Stars” sharing “never-before-seen broadcast footage from the house, exclusive interviews, surprise guest appearances and unprecedented behind-the-scenes access,” per the press release.
So yes… four days of “Big Brother” every week. More content, more chaos, and finally, more love for the BB diehards. The countdown to July 10 starts now.
