In recent times, celebrities revealing their homes on public platforms have become more common across different media. While such content offers fans a glance at the real lifestyle of their favorite stars and also affords the celebrities an opportunity to share their personal taste and space with the public, they have also proven to pose serious security risks.
Here are five celebrities who have faced such a predicament:
1. Park Na Rae
Recently, Park Na Rae recently suffered a home burglary at her ₩6 KRW (about $0.00 USD) Yongsan residence. The incident occurred on April 8 and is still under investigation. Interstingly, the comedian revealed her home in detail on MBC‘s I Live Alone. From the garden to the living room, almost every corner of her house was revealed to the public. Park later admitted that she would often see uninvited visitors loitering outside her home, some even waiting for hours to meet her. She also recalled an incident where her mother had opened the door to a complete stranger, mistaking them for a friend.
2. Kim Dae Ho
Former announcer Kim Dae Ho also revealed his home to the public on I Live Alone, which ended up inviting strangers to visit his place. After broadcasting his house on the show, Kim later admitted that he had to move houses because people came to visit the place so often, and some even left the bags at his gate after drinking.
3. Han Hye Jin
Model Han Hye Jin also faced similar issues with uninvited visitors at her Hongcheon villa after she revealed her house to the public. The high number of unauthorized visitors eventually forced her to install walls and gates around the property for security. When all failed, she made online posts asking people not to come looking for her residence. “It’s scary,” she admitted while pleading.
4. Lee Hyori
In 2017, Lee Hyori and her husband, Lee Sang Soon, revealed their Jeju home to the public through the JTBC show Hyori’s Homestay. The show quickly gained popularity, catapulting their home into the spotlight so intensely that it became a tourist hotspot. Fans would often go to the property to take photos, ring the doorbell, peek over walls, and so on. The couple later revealed that they were facing the unpleasant consequences of making their address public. They couldn’t even step out without checking the CCTV to ensure their safety.
5. BTS’s Jungkook
Jungkook has revealed his home to fans multiple times through live broadcasts, which unfortunately turned him into a victim of stalking. While he shared his living space with ARMYs in a friendly manner, some took it too far and started sending him food packages at his address. Jungkook had to call out such behavior on Weverse, leaving fans worried about his security and privacy.
