The office of the Central Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) in Mumbai would no longer be located in Walkeshwar . After 57 years ,the offices of the censor board have now moved to the other end of town to Peddar Road in SouthMumbai.
This re-location on the other end of the hub of the film Industry in theAndheri is deliberate.Says the CBFC chairerson Pahlaj Nihlani, “The office is being shifted this month from Walkeshwar
to Peddar Road in the same compound as the Films Division office. This is in pursuance of the endeavour to delink the Mumbai film industry from the workings of the CBFC as far as possible. Producers should not be at liberty to drop in at the CBFCoffice to meet the chairperson at the drop of a hat. In fact, now when the CBFC moves to a new office no producer or any member of the film industry would be entertained without a prior appointment.”
