Christina Haack Huddles With Ex-Husband at Soccer Game: ‘Can’t Rain on This Parade’
Months after healing their once-contentious relationship as ex-spouses and co-parents, HGTV star Christina Haack and Ant Anstead just showed the world their truce is still going strong.
On April 26, 2025, Haack and Anstead both posted photos from their five-year-old son Hudson’s morning soccer game. When it started to rain, the two huddled under a sign Anstead turned into a makeshift tent for themselves and a couple of other attendees as someone snapped a pic of the cute scene. The former couple looked relaxed and happy, despite the rain.
Haack posted the photo in her Instagram Stories, tagged Anstead and wrote, “Can’t rain on this parade ⚽”
Ant Anstead Sweetly Shielded Christina Haack From the Rain
Anstead, who hails from Great Britain, is a huge soccer (or football) fan and shared several photos from Hudson’s game, noting that rainy game weather is normal where he grew up.
He wrote, “Rain is a Normal footy day growing up in the UK! Rain never stopped play! And Parents did what they could to stay dry! 😂😂💁🏻♂️ and Hudzo crushed it in the match! Go the NINJAS!!!! X”
Haack replied in the comments, “Our lil man is a star ⚽️🌟”
Anstead, an automotive expert and TV host, also shared photos of Hudson on the sidelines in his uniform and another of the sign he’d been holding over his head with the names and jersey numbers of all the kids on Hudson’s team, called the Black Ninjas. Haack also shared a cute video in her Stories of the kids on the field, playing in the rain.
Ant Anstead & Christina Haack Mended Fences After She Broke Up With Her 3rd Husband, Josh Hall
This is the second time in six weeks that Haack and Anstead have shared photos together, cheering on their son. On March 10, they posted a photo of them smiling with Hudson after a performance at his school.
Those sweet family moments likely couldn’t have happened a year prior, given the custody fights and public admonishments that had taken place since their divorce. Anstead and Haack married in December 2018 and appeared on her HGTV show “Christina on the Coast” when they were together.
They welcomed Hudson in September 2019, but Haack filed for divorce the following summer. By 2022, the duo was entangled in a contentious and highly-public custody battle.
However, Haack and Anstead revealed in September 2024 that they’d mended fences and had established a positive co-parenting relationship. They’d come so far, in fact, that Haack invited Anstead to appear as a judge on “The Flip Off” in early 2025, the HGTV competition she starred in with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his second wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Haack has also forged a great relationship with them, as they co-parent her and Tarek’s kids — 14-year-old Taylor and nine-year-old Brayden.
During the episode of “The Flip Off” that Anstead appeared on, Haack opened up about the evolution of their relationship and how it healed after she split with her third husband, Josh Hall, in July 2024.
“Ant is my second ex-husband,” she told producers, explaining her decision to invite him on the show. “He is also the father to my third child Hudson, and an engineer and a car builder. If Ant was a judge — because Tarek is aware of some of the issues that Ant and I have had throughout the years — it’ll be a bit surprising and, let’s say, shocking.”
“Ant and I split up when Hudson was one, and now Hudson is five,” she continued. “Between the time of his first birthday and, I would say, fifth birthday, we did not communicate a lot. After Josh and I split up, I went over to his house to pick up Hudson ’cause I was taking him to a birthday party. And when I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug.”
“We hadn’t hugged in years,” Haack admitted. “And he just said, ‘I’m so sorry for everything that you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need. And it was a very nice moment, and we had a long talk after, and we decided to put all the B.S. aside and be good co-parents, like Tarek and I are, for Hudson.”
As a judge on “The Flip Off,” Anstead even made a controversial but compassionate decision to award his week’s challenge to Haack simply because she’s the mother of his child. The former couple is clearly keeping their promise to keep things positive for Hudson, given their latest show of joint support at the soccer field.
Both Haack and Anstead have moved onto other relationships. He has been with Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger since 2021, per Page Six. Haack’s relationship with business executive Chris Larocca, went public in early 2025.
