Court Case Against Nil Batte Sanatta, Censor Board Steps In

There were a number of court cases against the new comedy Santa Banta Pvt Ltd from Punjab and other places from elements that felt the film insulted the Sikh community.

Now comes the shocking news of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s highly well-intended film on female literacy Nil Battey Sanatta also getting into legal hassles. Apparently elements approached the courts to stop the release of the film as it contained scenes of corporal punishment in the classroom

Thc Censor Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) stepped in  to rescue both films in time for release.

Says a source in the know, “Every time there are public litigation or court cases against films for allegedly defaming a community, religion or individual the film is referred back by the courts to the CBFC . Both Santa Banta Pvt Ltd and Nil Battey Sanatta would  have been stopped if it weren’t for the CBFC’s intervention.”

Apparently the CBFC intends to take a stronger stand against what sources describe the “last-minute arm-twisting” of producers by certain sections.
