The monstrously controversial film Udta Punjab caught in a crossfire of debate and counter-debated on censorship is “most likely” to be released on time on June 17.

A  source from Phantom, the production house which is the co-producer on Udta Punjab says all preparations are on to release the film on time. “We are going ahead with the release plans hoping and praying that the honourable High Court will rule in our favour on Monday.”

Because of the raging controversies the public curiosity for the film is upscaled . Sources from the production house indicate that the number of prints  to be put out is likely to  be raised  in accordance with the growth in the public curiosity during the past week.

Says the source from Phantom, “We don’t expect a massive rise in footfalls post the controversies. But more people are definitely interested in the film now than earlier.”

In the meanwhile Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt the two leading ladies of Udta Punjab have been advised by the producers to “stay out.”

“Right now we don’t want anyone associated with the film to say anything that can go against it,” says the source from Phantom.
