There are conflicting reports emerging from the sets of Amit Rai’s OMG2, the sequel to the controversial 2013 film OMG. While one report stated that 7 members of the crew were tested Covid positive, the film’s producer hastened to clarify that it was only 3 members of the crew who tested positive.
Exactly how the reduced number helps to diminish the risk of infection is not clear.
To get to the bottom of the issue I spoke to a member of the film’s cast who on condition of anonymity told me, “It’s true only 3 not 7 members of the crew have tested positive. Shooting as been called off for now. But we all leave for Ujjain in the next ten days.”
This source also adds that the Ujjain schedule may be called off. “Akshay Kumar is supposed to join us for that schedule. Film’s lead players Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam are safe for now. So is the director. But we are told Akshay may decide to not shoot until the entire cast and crew are tested negative after they go through their mandatory period of quarantine.”
With one major film crew reporting multiple Covid cases it is time for film shootings in Bollywood to do some serious re-thinking on safety measures during the shooting and if they are being followed.
