After another excellent season, fans won’t be surprised to learn that Dan Da Dan has been renewed for a third season! It’s unclear when the third season will be released on Netflix, but we’re hopeful to see it by Spring 2026. Here’s what we know so far about Dan Da Dan season 3 on Netflix.
Dan Da Dan is an internationally licensed Japanese anime series from the animation studio Science Saru, and the adaptation of the manga of the same name by author Yukinobu Tatsu. Netflix acquired the first season in October 2024, and the series became one of Netflix’s biggest anime successes. While in the Netflix top ten, the first and second seasons have been viewed for a combined 60.8 million views.
The series is centered on two high school students, Momo and Okarun. Momo, who believes in ghosts, and Okarun, who believes in aliens, each denies the existence of the other, that is, until one fateful night on a dare, when Okarun has a run-in with a malicious spirit and Momo with over-inquisitive aliens, the pair find themselves stepping into the world of the paranormal and supernatural.

How much of the manga has been covered so far?
The 24 released episodes of Dan Da Dan have covered 71 of the 209 published manga chapters.
The second season covered the events of the Cursed House Arc, Evil Eye Arc, and the majority of the Kaiju Arc.
The third season will cover the remainder of the Kaiju Arc, followed by the events of the Space Globalists Arc, and likely the majority of the Obusuman Arc.
Will there be a fourth season of Dan Da Dan?
It’s going to be a while yet before a fourth season of Dan Da Dan is announced, and we fully expect not only a fourth season but eventually a fifth season as well. This is because the popularity of the series continues to grow, and with the manga still ongoing, there’s plenty of source material still to be adapted.
When can we expect to see Dan Da Dan season 3 on Netflix?
If the third season of Dan Da Dan follows a similar release schedule to the previous two seasons, then fans will only have to wait until 2026 for its release.
- Season 1 – October 4, 2024, to December 20, 2024
- Season 2- July 4, 2025, to September 19, 2025
There was a 6-month and 2-week gap between the end of the first season and the start of the second season. That means if the third season follows suit, then the release of Dan Da Dan season 3 would be at the start of April 2026.
It’s easy to forget that animating an anime is a lengthy process. Unless Science Saru has already been working on the third season, the wait could be longer.
