Dead Static Drive: A Day-One Release On Xbox Game Pass November 5

A new day-one release is on its way to Xbox Game Pass on November 5, and you won’t want to miss out on this new title. Even though it has recently gone through a complete overhaul, resulting in a new tier system and higher prices, the subscription service is still operating in a similar manner as before. Recently, one of 2024’s best games entered Xbox Game Pass for Premium members.

Day-one releases, however, are limited to the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers, so players looking forward to playing releases when they first arrive in the market may have to make an upgrade. This is the case with the recent addition of Super Fantasy Kingdom to Xbox Game Pass, for example. Now, a new release is entering the catalog, and you should check it out on day one.

Previously announced as one of the additions to Xbox Game Pass in November, Dead Static Drive will join the catalog on November 5. This indie title created by Reuben Games is a day-one release, which means it will only be available for members of the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. If you’re a Premium or Essential member, you’ll need to upgrade your subscription.

Dead Static Drive is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It also features Xbox Play Anywhere, which means you can carry your save from one platform to another, which is particularly helpful if you have Game Pass for multiple platforms. The game should stay in the catalog for at least a few months, if not a year, but I recommend playing it as soon as it releases.

Why You Should Play Dead Static Drive

The Survival Horror Game Has A Twist

Aside from the novelty factor of it being a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, you should check out Dead Static Drive if you’re a fan of survival horror games with a twist. The indie game puts you in control of Hearst, a traveler who is in search of their parents. As such, you’ll embark on a “nightmarish road trip across a 1980s Americana,” according to the announcement on Xbox Wire.

You’ll have to be continuously moving, as you’ll need to evade both the eldritch monsters above the surface and the threats that pursue you from beneath the ground. Of course, you’ll be able to equip yourself with gear that’ll help you and your allies survive as you’re chased around.

The game also has police, which grants it its “Grand Theft Cthulhu” nickname. If you’re looking for a new horrifying challenge, Dead Static Drive may be the game for you. This day-one release on Xbox Game Pass helps give the membership more value.
