Episode 8 is titled The Merfolk. Mogura and his friends are off to Yaeko’s family home with the intention of investigating the merfolk festival. At her house, they met her great-grandfather, Yuuya. He spends the majority of the time insulting Mogura, while Yaeko also takes the opportunity to mess with their heads about the island’s lore.
At the merfolk festival, the atmosphere becomes tense as spirits surround them. Yaeko’s hometown seems like a terrible and dangerous place to live, especially with the giant merfolk monster. They also met her old classmate, who had a negative aura around him that screamed trouble, hinting at his involvement in this.
Episode 9 will explore her old classmate’s closer, as his disappearance left the last one on a cliffhanger. Yaeko’s great-grandfather will also be vital to this storyline, as he would have important historical links to the festival. Perhaps Mogura and his friends will uncover the secrets of the island and what trauma lies ahead.
