Disney+ confirms the cast lineup for 'Goldland'

Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won, Moon Jung Hee, and Lee Kwang Soo are officially confirmed to lead the upcoming thriller mystery K-drama Goldland.

On June 10, Disney+ officially confirmed the cast lineup and revealed photos from the first script reading for the upcoming K-drama Goldland. 

Goldland will showcase the journey of a security screening officer working at an international airport. She accidentally takes possession of the gold bars of a smuggling organization. She is now facing danger due to the greed and betrayal of those around her, as well as her own desire to keep the gold.

The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Kim Sung Hoon (Chief Detective 1958 and My Little Hero) and writer  Hwang Jo Yoon (Rampant, Memoir of a Murderer, and Confidential Assignment). 

Goldland will exclusively premiere worldwide on Disney+ in 2026. 

Park Bo Young will give life to Kim Hee Joo, the security screening officer who struggles to protect the gold bars. The actress shared her excitement about officially joining the K-drama, stating, “I’m looking forward to trying a new genre. It will be fascinating to depict Kim Hee Joo, who initially seems uninterested in the gold bars, as she becomes obsessed with human nature and desires, leading to her transformation.”

Kim Sung Cheol will portray the role of Jang Wook/Woo Gi, a low-ranking member of a loan shark company.  He will intentionally approach Kim Hee Joo, knowing that she possesses the gold bars. The actor shared, “The character Woo Gi is a challenging one, and I feel like I could show a different version of myself. I’m looking forward to the chemistry I will build with Kim Hee Joo.”

Meanwhile, supporting characters of the K-drama will be portrayed by Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won, Moon Jung Hee, and Lee Kwang Soo. 

Lee Hyun Wook will be Lee Do Kyung in the series. He works as an airline co-pilot. He is also the lover of Kim Hee Joo, who will get her involved in the illegal smuggling case. 

Kim Hee Won will play the role of Kim Jin Man, a veteran detective in the violent crimes unit at the Jeongsan Police Department. 

Moon Jung Hee will play the character named Yeo Sun Ok. She is the mother of Kim Hee Joo. The two have a love-hate relationship. 

Lastly, Lee Kwang Soo will be Director Park in the series. He manages Geumseong, a sub-organization of the Gold Land hotel casino operation.
