Disney+ K-drama ‘Low Life’ confirmed to premiere next month!

The webtoon-based K-drama Low Life is confirmed to air next month.

On June 23, Disney+ officially confirmed that the upcoming crime K-drama Low Life will premiere on July 16. They also released the official poster and video trailer of the series.

Low Life will base its story on the webtoon titled “The Hooligans” by Yoon Tae Ho. It will tell the story of an uncle and his nephews who went to the West Sea after receiving an offer to be treasure diggers. The K-drama is set in the 1970s.

The Hooligans will be helmed by director Kang Yoon Sung, who also created the hit K-drama Big Bet and the blockbuster films The Roundup, The Outlaws, and more.

Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, Lim Soo Jung, Im Hyung Joon, Lee Sang Jin, and Kim Eui Sung will lead the upcoming K-drama.

Low Life will begin airing on July 16. The first three episodes will be revealed on the premiere date, followed by two episodes each on July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13

The teaser introduces a diverse team consisting of a tomb raider, appraiser, police officer, broker, and driver, who unite with one goal: pursuing a sunken treasure ship. These characters, from various South Korean regions like Seoul, Busan, and Mokpo, bring authenticity through their distinct regional dialects. Combined with a meticulously crafted 1970s retro production design, the series delivers a deeply immersive and engaging experience.

Ryu Seung Ryong and Yang Se Jong are will be the main leads in the series. Ryu Seung Ryong will play Oh Gwan Seok, a character who has made his living through various illicit activities, including scams and theft. Yang Se Jong will portray Oh Hee Dong, Oh Gwan Seok’s nephew. The duo embarks on a dangerous journey after accepting a proposal to travel to the West Sea for a treasure-digging venture.

Low Life will exclusively air on Disney+. It will have a total of 11 episodes.
