Doctor G Ayushmann Khurrana First Adult Comedy

Ayushmann  Khurrana has constantly been  part of a sexually frank cinema. His  very first film Vicky Donor was about sperm donation. Shubh Mangal  Savdhan  had him  wrestle with erectile malfunction and Shubh Mangal  Phir Savdhan had him play a gay man.Badhai Ho  was  about  sex and parenthood  in the  60s.

However, miraculously, all  these films were designated as  family films.  Anubhuti Kashyap’s Doctor  G is Khurrana’s first  film to be granted a ‘Adults’ certificate  by the Central Board Of Film Certification.

A  source  in the know  informs that  this time the  sexual content was  more explicit. “In Khurrana’s   other  films sex and related issues are placed in the background . In Doctor G  there are reams  of explicit  dialogue on the female anatomy. It is  a healthy opening  up  of a  bodily  debates. But it is not  suitable  for children.”

The CBFC gave the producers  of Doctor G two choices: make serious cuts in  the dialogues or take an  A with everything intact.

For the Doctor G team it was  a no-brainer.
