Double Wedding Delight: Kim Jong-min and Ailee Tie the Knot on the Same Day
April 20 turned out to be a special day for K-pop fans as two beloved artists—Kim Jong-min and Ailee—officially tied the knot in separate ceremonies held on the same day. The double celebration sent waves of excitement across the Korean entertainment scene.
Kim Jong-min: From Funny Guy to Married Man
KOYOTE member Kim Jong-min married his non-celebrity bride, an entrepreneur 11 years his junior, at the luxurious Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. The wedding was nothing short of star-studded, with Yoo Jae-suk hosting the first part of the ceremony and Cho Sae-ho and Moon Se-yoon taking over the second. Lee Juck and Lyn serenaded the couple with heartfelt performances.
“I feel excited and nervous. It’s a strange but beautiful feeling, like a whole new life is beginning,” Kim shared before the ceremony. He also admitted feeling sorry for his bride, who bore the brunt of the wedding preparations.
Recalling the proposal, Kim said: “I wanted it to be unforgettable. My brother-in-law helped with the setup—we rented a restaurant, decorated it with lights, and created a romantic atmosphere. Even I was moved by how magical it turned out.”
Kim also revealed plans to have two children—a boy and a girl—and announced that the couple will honeymoon in the south of France.
Ailee: Korea’s Vocal Queen Finds Her King
Meanwhile, powerhouse vocalist Ailee tied the knot with Choi Si-hun, a businessman and former actor, in a private wedding ceremony at a venue in Gangnam, Seoul. The couple had been dating for over a year and legally registered their marriage in August 2024.
The wedding had a more modern, youthful vibe with emcees from the YouTube group Psick Univ and performances by Baek Ji-young, Lee Mu-jin, and Mighty Mouth.
Ailee expressed her gratitude on social media: “We’ve come a long way together, and I’m so thankful for all the love and support.”
The newlyweds are heading to Dubai and the Maldives for their honeymoon.
