’Drag Race’ Fan Favorite Reveals Why They’ll ‘Never’ Return to the Show

Similar to “All Stars” seasons on series like “Survivor” and “Project Runway,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” has been welcoming back its former contestants for a second shot at the crown since it debuted its first season in 2012.

While the first three “All Stars” seasons featured contestants who had only competed on “Drag Race” once before, Manila Luzon and Latrice Royale made history when they made their third appearance on the drag competition series. Since then, countless other “Drag Race” queens have returned for a “third time’s the charm” shot at the crown, including Jujubee (“All Stars 5”), Yara Sofia (“All Stars 6”), Shea Coulee (“All Stars 7”), and, most recently, Jorgeous (All Stars 10”).

Following the cast announcement for “All Stars 10,” Ginger Minj became the first “Drag Race” star to compete on four separate U.S. seasons.

Now that fans know it’s possible, they’re turning to other three-time “Drag Race” players, like Roxxxy Andrews, to ask the question: “Would you come back?

Roxxxy Andrews Officially Retires from ‘Drag Race’

Roxxxy Andrew first sashayed into the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Werk Room when she joined the cast of Season 5. Together with fellow contestants Alaska and Detox, the trio formed their legendary “RoLaskaTox” alliance, eventually earning spots in the Final Four alongside the season’s eventual winner, Jinkx Monsoon. Despite not winning the season, Roxxxy’s run established her as one of the series’ original villains.

When she returned to compete on “All Stars 2,” joined by Alaska and Detox, Roxxxy made an honest effort to rehabilitate her “Drag Race” reputation as she once again secured a place in the finale. Despite being put up for elimination repeatedly throughout the season, Roxxxy’s congenial gameplay is widely considered one of the series’ best “RuDemption” stories.

Most recently, Roxxxy returned once again for “All Stars 9,” where she competed in the series’ first charity season on behalf of Miracle of Love, a Florida-based non-profit organization. Back in top form, Andrews yet again found herself in the finale, though she eventually lost the crown to Angeria Paris van Michaels.

Over the course of her “Drag Race” career, Roxxxy has racked up a record-breaking 10 lip sync wins – a record that she still currently holds.

When asked if she’d ever come back for another “All Stars” appearance, however, Roxxxy’s answer was firm: “Never.”

’My Time as a Contestant is Done,’ Says Roxxxy

Elaborating on her decision not to return to “Drag Race,” Roxxxy told fans on X/Twitter, “I’m forever grateful for every moment on the show and everything I got! I got the BEST FANS!”

She added: “I loved making television!!! But my time as a contestant is over…”

The news makes Roxxxy the third and final member of ‘RoLaskaTox’ to rule out a “Drag Race” return, following Detox and Alaska.

While Detox previously expressed interest in coming back to the series, Roxxxy’s elimination in the finale of “All Stars 9” was enough to make the queen write off a “Drag Race” return.

“NOOOOOOOOOPE. The itch is gone,” wrote Detox on X/Twitter after the finale.

The final member of ‘RoLaskaTox,’ Alaska, took home the crown and the $100,000 grand prize when she was declared the winner of “All Stars 2.” Since then, the queen has been vocal about her desire to return for a second “All Winners” season, though she has since reported that a “Drag Race” return seems unlikely.

“[World of Wonder] don’t want to talk to,” said Alaska during an appearance on “The Kelly Mantle Show,” referencing the production company behind “Drag Race.” She added that she believes she hasn’t been invited back to the show due to her ongoing working relationship with fellow “Drag Race” alum, Willam on their hit podcast “Race Chaser.” Willam, who was notoriously disqualified on Season 4, has been vocal about her ongoing “feud” with the show’s host, RuPaul.

“Willam is sort of very on the outs with World of Wonder,” added Alaska. “And so when we decided we wanted to do a podcast together, someone was like, ‘We’re really disappointed that you wanted to a podcast.’ He didn’t say that to me, he said it to someone here, like someone on my team.”

“That door is fully closed,” concluded Alaska.
