Eisha Singh’s lehenga tales!

Designer Ami Vora reveals what went into making the lead actor’s traditional look for Zee TV’s Ishq Subhan Allah

Putting the spotlight on Triple Talaaq, Zee TV’s new fiction show, Ishq Subhan Allah has introduced its viewers to the turbulent love story of Zara (Eisha Singh) and Kabeer (Adnan Khan) – an Islamic couple dealing with the issue first-hand. The show’s stellar opening gave it the pedestal of being the second highest opening weekday fiction show of 2017-2018 across industry. Viewers will be taken on a gripping journey where in a turn of events, destiny brings Zara and Kabeer – a liberal, modern woman and a staunch traditional hard-liner together by way of a niqaah.

While the entire cast donned beautiful traditional attires for the much-awaited niqaah sequence, lead actor Eisha Singh looked glamourous in her bridal attire. The gorgeous actress donned a beautiful maroon lehenga which was paired with a heavily embroidered dupatta, making the entire outfit look rich. The show’s costume designer Ami Vora shared her experience of designing Eisha’s costume and revealed that the wedding lehenga involved a great amount of patch work and pearl embroidery.

Commenting on her design, Ami said, “For the niqaah sequence, outfits were specially designed for the entire cast, but Eisha’s lehenga, since she is the bride, had to stand out from the rest. My team and I spent a month researching on various fabrics and design patterns. We took inspiration from various popular Pakistani designers like Ali Xeeshan, Nomi Ansari and Tena Durrani’s collections. Moreover, it took two weeks of hard-work and 6 karigars who worked around the clock to put the lehenga together. We have also taken inspiration from Turkish designers and used a wide range of velvet fabric combined with rich embroidery to enhance the beauty of all the outfits that will be worn during the upcoming sequence.”

Talking about her lehenga, Eisha said, “Ami definitely knows what looks good on her artists and designs her outfits in such a manner. I was blown away by the outfit Ami had designed for me and the choice of fabric coupled with the detailed embroidery made me fall in love with it instantly. She completely got my taste and style after which she curated this beautiful masterpiece. I am really looking forward to wearing this stunning lehenga. ”

Will Zaara and Kabeer’s niqaah resolve their issues? Will Zaara’s terms and conditions lead them to having their first clash?
