Esha Deol Loses Her Cool At Lakme Fashion Week, Mom Pacifies

The ever-gorgeous Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Sanjukta Dutta. While everyone has commented on how beautiful they both looked in their silk sarees, an ugly incident in the sidelines left a sour taste in Hema Malini’s and her daughter’s mouth.

After walking the ramp, Hema and Esha chatted amicably with the media and talk veered to Esha’s short-film Cakewalk which she has directed. A section of the media asked Esha about the film and as she was more than willing to answer. But as soon as Esha prepared to reply the anchor/coordinator rudely intervened saying the media should restrict its questions to the event on-hand.

While Hema took the snub in her stride Esha was visibly upset and she walked off the stage in a huff leaving a  discernibly embarrassed mom behind.

Hema feels a little courtesy towards the media goes a long way at celebrity events. “The media doesn’t get a chance to ask us about our work, whenever they want. So no harm if they pick a specific venue and event to ask us about activities that are not related to the event. There was no need for the anchor to get antsy about it. It is quite normal  for us to interact with the media informally.”

Hema is very proud of her daughter’s achievement. “She has acted in short film directed by our friend (journalist-author) Ram Kamal Mukherjee. I think Esha has done a beautiful job. But then. I am her mother. My opinion is bound to be seen as biased. Please see it for yourself and judge what she has done.”
