It’s common for sci-fi TV shows to come and go, with plenty of great but underseen series flying under the radar, only to be rediscovered later. When it comes to bingeable, nuanced, and accessible shows that everyone can enjoy, it can be exciting to dive into titles that have been overlooked, especially such an underrated sci-fi show from the 2010s.
Like the many sci-fi shows that are almost perfect, this series faced some ups and downs throughout its run, but is overwhelmingly memorable and thrilling in every season. Continuum is an underrated addition to the genre that more fans should be checking out, not just for its premise and intricate storytelling, but because of the stellar cast who commit to their roles.
Continuum is The Perfect Binge Watch This Weekend
This Canadian Sci-fi Series Will Capture Your Attention
Running for four seasons from 2012 to 2015, Continuum is a Canadian series that sees its protagonist, Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), sent back in time from 2077 to 2012. While trying to balance her secret identity as a police officer from the future and attempting to catch the terrorists who sent themselves back on purpose, Kiera goes through a lot in Continuum.
Currently available to stream on Prime Video, Peacock, and Tubi, Continuum strikes the perfect balance between the crime procedural and sci-fi genres. It can be difficult to get time travel right onscreen, since so many shows and movies within the genre have tackled this subject. However, Continuum feels real and imaginative at the same time.
While Continuum is a sci-fi show that was canceled too soon, there’s still plenty of story to enjoy, as the series has plenty of episodes to dive into in each season. Season 1 has ten episodes, with seasons 2 and 3 unfolding over thirteen, and season 4 finishing the show with six installments. Continuum tells a full story while also being easy to binge in a weekend.
