Madhur Bhandarkar is a huge fan of Lata Mangeshkar and has worked with the legendary singer in his films Page 3 and Jail.
In May this year he took time out and paid a visit to meet Lata Mangeshkar at her residence. The filmmaker has often mentioned in his media interactions that he’s great fan of Lata since he was a child and it was his dream to get her to sing for his films. Whenever he feels low he calls her and has to meet her every 15 days. While she has not sung in the film, a collection of Lata Mangeshkar’s songs have been played in the background as Indu Sarkar is set in the 70s era.
Now we have heard that Madhur is planning to show Lata Mangeshkar, his latest release Indu Sarkar very soon.
When asked about it Madhur says, “Lata didi is like a goddess to me. While I have not shown Indu Sarkar to her as yet, I definitely plan to have a screening for her very soon. I have been traveling and it’s been just the third day of the release so it’s been very hectic. Once I am back in Mumbai I will show Indu Sarkar to her. Lata didi also needs to have time to watch it. She wasn’t well in between…”
Last week some close friends of Madhur including Minister for Human Resource Development, Prakash Javdekar, Professor Rakesh Sinha and Madhu Kishwer saw the film in Delhi.
