SPOILER ALERT!!! The following article contains potential spoilers for “Survivor 49” and “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.”

It’s been weeks since fans have received any kind of official updates on “Survivor 49,” which is set to make its CBS debut this September. The most recent information regarding the upcoming season came in the form of a first-look trailer following the finale of “Survivor 48” on May 21. Since then, however, all sights have been on “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.”

Set to make its debut in February 2026, the landmark season will feature 24 returning players from throughout the show’s history as they battle it out in the ultimate battle of new-school vs. old-school. It’s no surprise that “Survivor 50” has been the name on every fan’s lips recently, especially since its official cast, featuring legacy players like Cirie Fields and Ozzy Lusth as well as former winners like Kyle Fraser and Dee Valladares, was announced on May 28.

That being said, the hype surrounding Season 50 has left some fans feeling like Season 49 is getting overlooked in the process. Or at least, it was, until Inside Survivor revealed the rumored tribe divisions for “Survivor 50.” Now, fans think they’ve cracked one major mystery about “Survivor 49” months before its debut.

‘Survivor 49’ Castaways Join the Cast of ‘Survivor 50’

While CBS has yet to officially confirm the cast of “Survivor 49” ahead of its debut this fall, eagle-eyed fans were able to identify some players from their brief appearances in the first-look trailer. In addition to former “Black Panther” executive Nate Moore, fans also confirmed that podcast host Rizo Velovic, alt-rock singer Annie Davis and Alberta Ice Pilots hockey player Jake Latimer will also appear on “Survivor 49.” Other contestants include therapist Sage Ahrens-Nichols, financial analyst Sophi Balerdi, and journalist Savannah Louie.

For the last few weeks, however, Rizo and Savannah have received more coverage than their castmates, as they are heavily rumored to be competing on “Survivor 50.” While Jeff Probst confirmed that two players from “Survivor 49” would be returning for the landmark season, their identities remain, at least officially, unconfirmed.

Inside Survivor, the same source that identified the rumored “Survivor 49” cast, has now revealed that Rizo will start “Survivor 50” on the Purple tribe alongside players like Colby Donaldson, Aubry Bracco, and “Survivor 48” winner Kyle Fraser. Meanwhile, Savannah is rumored to begin the game on the Orange tribe with the likes of Cirie Fields, Ozzy Lusth, and Joe Hunter.

Fans Place Their Bets That [SPOILERS] Will Win ‘Survivor 49’

While this information by itself reveals very little about the Season 49 players, closer inspection has led fans to believe that the tribe divisions for “Survivor 50” confirm that Savannah Louie will win “Survivor 49” this fall.

The rumor has grown after fans noticed that each tribe, barring Savannah’s Orange tribe, features one former winner – Kyle for Purple and “Survivor 45” winner Dee Valladares for Teal. As the only “Survivor 49” castaway on the Orange tribe, is it possible that Savannah already earned the title of “Sole Survivor” before jetting off to Fiji to film “Survivor 50”?

Unfortunately, only time will tell. Until then, stay tuned for further updates on both “Survivor 49” and “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,” coming to CBS in September 2025 and February 2026 respectively.
