It’s been just under a week since Prime Video announced it was not moving forward with another season of Étoile, but fans of the show are not content to stand by on the sidelines while it perishes. A fan campaign dubbed #SaveÉtoile was put together shortly after the series was canned at Amazon, and it has garnered over 600 signatures in the last few days, as well as daily social actions like fan art, comment storms, and letters to Amazon. Étoile originally received a two-season order, which made its cancellation sting all the more. The show also developed a strong fan base upon the release of all Season 1 episodes at once on April 24, partially due to its glowing LGBTQ+ representation and love stories.
