As many fans know, the journey to becoming an idol trainee is both time-consuming and expensive. For those under smaller or lesser-known companies, it isn’t always about a lack of talent—rather, limited resources, connections, or financial support can ultimately determine whether a trainee debuts. Some trainees and even idols have admitted to juggling part-time jobs just to keep their dreams alive.
One such trainee hopeful, Horikita Moa, once dreamed of a career in entertainment. She even entered the well-known Japanese competition Miss Cutest High School Girl, a beauty contest that often serves as a springboard into the entertainment industry. Moa advanced to the finals, but despite her early promise, she was unable to secure a path toward debuting as an idol.
Now 21, Moa has announced her debut in a completely different industry—adult films. Recently, it was revealed that she signed with IdeaPocket, one of Japan’s most prominent AV production companies, with her first release scheduled for October 14.
Although Moa admits to being shy, she shared that she enjoys romance, particularly the feeling of kissing, which she says gave her the confidence to step into this new career. Her debut DVD even references her past pageant experience, highlighting her journey from beauty contest finalist to her current choice.
While this may not have been the debut she originally envisioned, Moa expressed excitement about beginning a new chapter in her life.
