General Hospital: Why Is Lydia Look’s Selina Wu Leaving?

Selina Wu has left Port Charles in the latest episode of General Hospital, and it seems like her path back to the town will not be a linear one. As one of the heads of a crime family, Wu had quite a track record, but she was recently framed by Jenz Sidwell. Now, her only way of staying alive is to leave the town.

This also means that Lydia Look will not appear in General Hospital for quite a while, especially while Sonny remains active and vengeful. But why is Selina Wu leaving General Hospital?

Why is Lydia Look’s Selina Wu leaving General Hospital?

Selina Wu’s many exciting arcs on General Hospital culminated in a rather big twist in the July 2, 2025, episode of the show. Jenz Sidwell, the new big bad in the series, bombed Charlie’s to send a message to his mob rival, Sonny Corinthos. But this bombing almost cost Kristina Davis her life, leading to serious repercussions.

However, Jenz Sidwell did not simply bomb the establishment. He also framed Selina Wu for the attack. He went as far as to use Selina’s men to carry out the crime. After this, Sidwell simply suggested that Selina leave.

Sonny would want Selina’s head for this heinous attempt. There would be no convincing him, as Sidwell has already made sure everyone believes Selina Wu was behind the bombings.

So, Selina Wu had to depart Port Charles for good. She will at least have to stay away until someone “takes care of” Sonny. Perhaps Sidwell and Sonny will let their rivalry boil to a point where one kills the other. Meanwhile, the people of Port Charles will continue to target Selina Wu. This would leave her with hardly any chance to explain herself.
