Hallmark Star to Return to Soap Where She Made History

A Hallmark star is returning to an old gig that holds a special place in her heart. “Hearts Around the Table: Shari’s Second Act” star Mishael Morgan is reprising her former role on “The Young and the Restless.”

Morgan won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2022 for her work as on “The Young and the Restless.” As Deadline noted on March 27, this was a historic win. Morgan was the first Black actress to win that award.

Mishael Morgan Returns to ‘The Young and the Restless’ for a Guest Arc

On March 31, Morgan shared the news via her Instagram page. In the caption, she wrote, “She’s back! Heading to Genoa city to start some Drama. Who’s ready?”

In her post, Morgan included a short video that shared the announcement from Deadline. Fans were thrilled by the news.

One fan wrote, “OMG, I am so happy with this news. Welcome back!!!”

“Excited for ur return !!!! 🙌🙌🙌 I always watch #hevon clips old Y&r clips . Will def be more excited to watch Y&R when you are in it!!!! 😀😀😀cheers from 🇨🇦,” someone else gushed.

The Hallmark & Soap Star Never Planned to Go Into Acting

According to Deadline, Morgan’s return will be temporary. Her “guest arc” will air in the spring, and she is back on the set for “The Young and the Restless” taping now.

The last time fans saw Morgan on “The Young and the Restless” was in February 2024. She first joined the show in 2013 as Hilary Curtis. After being front-and-center for five years, Morgan’s character died in a car crash.

She returned to “The Young and the Restless” in 2019 to play the new character of Amanda Sinclaire, who was Hilary’s twin sister. It was while playing Amanda that she won her Daytime Emmy Award.

Deadline noted that during her acceptance speech, Morgan shared, “I was born on a tiny island in the Caribbean, and I’m now standing on an international stage and I am being honored regardless of the color of my skin, regardless of my passport, for being the best at what I do.”

She added, “Now there are little girls around the world and no matter what the industry, the vocation … they can strive to be the best.”

As her bio on Hallmark notes, Morgan never intended to make a career out of acting. She intended on becoming an attorney, but a “catastrophic accident” changed that. Morgan endured a broken neck, and came away from the experience believing in taking opportunities as they arose.

She worked as a bartender at a nightclub in Toronto, and she met her future agent there. By the time a law school acceptance came, Morgan was fully immersed in acting and she didn’t look back.

Morgan’s Hallmark movie “Hearts Around the Table: Shari’s Second Act” debuted on March 29, and is next set to air again on April 12. .
