As soon as the credits rolled after the premiere of Hallmark Channel’s highly-anticipated sequel to its 2022 hit “Three Wise Men and a Baby,” fans were already asking for more. Following the sequel’s first airing on November 23, 2024, viewers flooded social media with requests for the stars of “Three Wiser Men and a Boy” — Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, and Paul Campbell— to reunite for a third film.
Trying to deliver a sequel that met fans’ expectations was a lot of pressure, Walker told EntertainmentNOW before the premiere, and admitted a third movie about the Brenner brothers would be tough to pull off. The three stars agree their future plans definitely include keeping their onscreen chemistry alive, but it may not be as the Brenner brothers.
SPOILER ALERT: If you have not yet watched “Three Wiser Men and a Boy,” please note that there are some spoilers in the story below.
Andrew Walker Thinks Brenner Brothers’ Future Should Be ‘Left Up to the Imagination’
When “Three Wise Men and a Baby” debuted in November 2022, the comedy about three brothers who wind up caring for a baby during the holidays quickly became the most-watched movie of the year across cable TV. The script was written by Campbell and his writing partner, fellow Hallmark actress Kimberley Sustad.
Calls for a sequel were almost immediate, and all three stars denied anything was in the works until April 2024, when they surprised fans with the news they’d been filming a sequel, set five years after the first story took place. Campbell and Sustad teamed up again for the sequel script, but worked on it with Russell Hainline, who’s written other successful rom-coms like 2023’s “The Santa Summit” for Hallmark and Lacey Chabert’s 2024 Netflix hit “Hot Frosty.”
“Going into a sequel — especially of a movie that was the number one most watched movie on cable television in 2022 — there’s a pressure that goes with that,” Walker told Heavy. “We didn’t want to tell the same story. We wanted to do things different and yet we also didn’t want to change things too much, you know?”
As soon as the premiere ended, fans had lots to say when Campbell tweeted, “Well? We happy?”
One responded, “Yes, but we need a THIRD MOVIE! We need to see Stephan get married and Taylor’s love story with Caroline!”
Another replied, “So happy! The Brenner boys did not disappoint. Can we have a third one? Please.”
“Yes,” another tweeted. “Now…can we talk about a third one?”
Even before the sequel came out, Walker said, he and his co-stars were getting frequent questions about turning the story into a trilogy — an idea he admitted to EntertainmentNOW he’s not so sure about.
“I don’t think so,” Walker said. “We will see, you know, depending on what Hallmark wants to do. But I think Tyler, Paul and I will be doing more movies together. I just don’t know if it’s going to be in ‘The Wise Men’ forum.”
“I think there’s something beautiful about it, like, ending in a way that (shows) seemingly things are all good, and we’ve all learned a lesson,” Walker continued. “There’s still some unfinished business left to do, but I think it’s better just left up to the imagination.”
Many fans have suggested that seeing the Brenner brothers deal with having a pre-teen or teen would be fun, which Walker agreed could be a good premise “in a few years.” He joked that if they wait long enough, the character of Thomas, played by child actor Miles Marthaller, might be old enough that they can just make a movie called “Four Old Men.”
Tyler Hynes Wants to Team Up Again With ‘Three Wiser Men’ Cast for a ‘Ridiculous New Scenario’

Neither Campbell or Hynes sound particularly pumped to create a third “Wise Men” movie either, but they won’t rule it out.
Campbell told TV Insider, “Is there a third story? I don’t know. I think I’ll never say no. I’m sure the network will have a strong opinion. It was really challenging to write this story and to really write it in a way that satisfied all the things.”
Hynes told Soaps.com that if fans are adamant about wanting a third story with the Brenner brothers, the screenwriters and cast “can revisit them later.” But he said it’s more likely to see them in an all-new storyline as new characters, possibly filmed as a trilogy much like Hallmark’s “Wedding Veil” trilogy and “The Groomsmen,” the fall 2024 trilogy that Hynes starred in with Jonathan Bennett and B.J. Britt.
“The reality is we all feel like there’s an exciting horizon for the three of us — and hopefully Kimberly Sustad — in some new shenanigan,” he said. “This is what I think is going to be a more event-worthy moment: What if we three morons end up in Mexico?”
Hynes continued, “I think the most interesting, event-worthy prospect is the three of us morons — plus Kim Sustad — in some ridiculous new scenario,” he told the outlet. “We had an idea on the first one that Paul, Kim, and I think will tickle, and we’ll see if we end up materializing it.”
“Three Wiser Men and a Boy” will be available to watch throughout the holiday season, with Hallmark Channel re-airings planned through Christmas, including on November 29 at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
