Two years after Christina Haack said she’d “fallen in love with Tennessee” while launching her show “Christina in the Country,” the longtime HGTV star now says the show and her life there is “over.”
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Jeff Lewis Show” on January 10, 2025, Haack — who has reclaimed her maiden name (pronounced “hawk”) since filing for divorce from third husband Josh Hall in July — told Lewis that after two seasons of conducting renovations in the Nashville area, she won’t be returning to film any more episodes.
After the second season aired in the fall of 2024, featuring segments Haack filmed with Hall before they split, rumors had swirled that the show may not return given their breakup and her decision to sell their home there.
Haack confirmed those rumors to Lewis as he listed off the HGTV shows she’s starred in, including “Flip or Flop” and “Christina on the Coast.” When he mentioned “Christina in the Country,” the interior designer interjected, “That’s over. That was two seasons.”
Christina Haack Says Her Ex Josh Hall Can ‘Stay’ in Tennessee
Though Hall filed court documents to temporarily force Haack to pause the potential sale of her Tennessee home, Haack told Lewis she’s moving forward with the sale. By January 2025, the listing had returned to active status.
“I’m selling that one, I just don’t want it anymore,” she told Lewis. “It’s too hard to go back and forth.”
When Lewis asked whether it was “a place where you and Josh would go together,” Haack responded, “Yes, he lives in Tennessee, too. So he can stay in Tennessee. I’ll stay in California.”
After the couple filed for divorce, Haack, a native Californian, remained in their primary home in Newport Beach, California, while Hall retreated to Tennessee, staying part-time at the farmhouse. Within three months of their split, Hall began dating a Nashville-based model Stephanie Gabrys, according to a January 10 report by Us Weekly.
Christina Haack Initially Thought Life in Tennessee Was a ‘Dream Come True’

Haack rose to fame on HGTV with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, as they starred in 10 seasons of “Flip or Flop,” but the couple split in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2018. Amid her divorce from her second husband, Ant Anstead, she “fell in love with Tennessee” while visiting a friend and bought an “insanely beautiful modern farmhouse” on 23 acres outside of Nashville in early 2021, she told People.
A year later, she met and began dating Hall there, and by October 2022 they were married, according to divorce documents reviewed by EntertainmentNOW. They began filming “Christina in the Country” together, which premiered its first six-episode season in January 2023.
“I’ve fallen in love with Tennessee and it truly has become our home away from home,” she said in a statement at the time. “We’re enjoying all the perks of living in the country—the privacy, clean air, nature and clear night sky. And having the opportunity to grow my design business both here and in California is a dream come true.”
Though “Christina in the Country” won’t continue, Haack is excited for her newest show, “The Flip-Off,” premiering on January 29. Though Hall will appear in the two-hour premiere episode of the house-flipping competition, since they began filming before their breakup, Haack will go on to battle El Moussa and his wife of three years, Heather Rae El Moussa, with her design partner Kylie Wing by her side.
She was scheduled to film segments with Lewis, who appears as a judge, on January 12.
