Heather Rae El Moussa Reveals How She Felt About Josh Hall Leaving ‘The Flip Off’

Heather Rae El Moussa is sharing how she felt about Josh Hall leaving the upcoming HGTV series, “The Flip Off.”

During a January 2025 Us Weekly interview, alongside her husband, Tarek El Moussa and his ex-wife, Christina Haack, Heather Rae El Moussa opened up about filming “The Flip Off.” The series, which premieres on January 29, will focus on Heather Rae El Moussa and her husband competing against Haack while flipping houses. Hall filmed a few episodes of the show until he left following his July 2024 breakup from Haack, whom he wed in 2022.

While speaking to Us Weekly, Heather Rae El Moussa shared that she believed the dynamic of the show improved after Hall exited the series.

“Better. Not to be mean, but he definitely didn’t have the best personality. So it’s like a breath of fresh air. And [Christina is] in a really good place,” said Heather Rae El Moussa.

Tarek El Moussa also said he “tried to be very friendly and supportive” of Hall when he was with Haack.

“I tried to do social media content with him,” said Tarek El Moussa during the interview.

Heather Rae El Moussa agreed that her relationship with Hall “was always very friendly.” She explained that she and her husband “wanted a positive environment” with Hall because he was the stepfather to Haack and Tarek El Moussa’s children, Taylor and Brayden.

Christina Haack Discussed Filming With Josh Hall

In the Us Weekly interview, Haack said she had difficulty shooting with Hall during the production of “The Flip Off.” According to Haack, Hall felt insecure about her and her ex-husband’s friendship.

“Josh was very hard to film with. He didn’t get it. He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’ Ultimately, it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked,” said Haack to Us Weekly.

Haack also mentioned her issues with Hall during a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said that her ex-husband was “insecure by” her and did not “like to see [her] win.”

“I feel like I wasn’t shining as bright to try to not make him feel emasculated,” said Haack to Entertainment Tonight.

Tarek El Moussa Gave an Update About Christina Haack Following Her Separation

In a September 2024 interview with E! News, alongside Heather Rae El Moussa, Tarek El Moussa gave an update about Haack following her separation from Hall. According to Tarek El Moussa, Haack “is doing great.”

“She’s supported by family. She has the kids. And she’s working her tail off,” said Tarek El Moussa during the E! News interview.
