Ahead of the 2025 Academy Awards, Brody was in the middle of back-to-back interviews on the Oscars Red Carpet when Berry surprised him with a smooch of her own.

To be a part of his moment… tonight I had to pay him back,” Berry joked with Variety correspondent Marc Malkin. “I’ve seen him out at parties, but this is the first time since that night that I’ve seen him on the red carpet somewhere. He’s nominated this year. He deserved that.”

“This year, I hope it happens because I’m tired of occupying that space alone.”
