The Food Network is sharpening all the blades in the kitchen with a new series, “House of Knives,” produced by theoldschool (recently known for “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking”). This new series will have famous chefs competing in a battle for the throne every week. With high-stakes challenges, intense rivalries, and amazing dishes, the show is sure to be a hit with food lovers and reality TV fans everywhere.
How “House of Knives” Will Work
Elite chefs will compete in a series of cooking challenges with each episode featuring a different secret ingredient and theme, as well as twists that will test their adaptability, skills, and creativity. The goal: to impress a set of Culinary Council members (a.k.a the judges), including Judy Joo and Marcus Samuelsson, who will determine who stays and who goes each week. “House of Knives” will be different than series with similar formats (i.e. Iron Chef) by allowing chefs to sabotage their esteemed opponents and earn helpful advantages.
And after a grueling eight episodes, the winner will earn the title of “House of Knives” champion and a huge cash prize ($100,000). Betsy Ayala, (Head of Content, Food) at Warner Bros. Discovery told Deadline, “The House of Knives arena is all about extreme talent and gameplay – only the strongest contenders have a chance at the crown. Our viewers are in for a unique experience watching these chefs fight for their name by showcasing their personal food style and stories.”
Who Is Competing in the Series?
With a mix of up-and-coming faces, well-known Food Network stars, and culinary professionals, “House of Knives” is making sure a fan favorite will emerge. Boasting food trucks, experimental kitchens, and Michelin-starred restaurants, these contestants come from every walk of the food life. Per Food Network’s announcement, the “chefs competing for the House of Knives throne over the season include Anne Burrell, Shirley Chung, Kelsey Bernard Clark, Poppy O’Toole, Viet Pham, Jonathon Sawyer, Martel Stone, John Tesar and Claudette Zepeda.”
