“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley is explaining her decision to keep multiple photos of her and her estranged husband, PK Kemsley, on display during her Fourth of July party.
During the February 18 episode of the “RHOBH After Show,” Dorit Kemsley noted that her castmate Kyle Richards pointed out the framed photos that showed the couple posing together on a table near their home’s entry in RHOBH season 14, episode 12. Dorit Kemsley, who announced her separation in May 2024, said she did not think about the photos until Richards “mentioned it.” She also referenced that she has not told her and her estranged husband’s children, Jagger, 10, and Phoenix, 8, that they are separated.
“I live in the house with my children. And for my children, it’s business as usual. And I usually come in through the garage. I don’t come through the front door. So I don’t see it. It’s not in my face,” said Dorit Kemsley during the “RHOBH After Show” episode.
She suggested, however, that she is bothered by a large framed photo of her and PK Kemsley in her bedroom. She said that while she has not yet taken it down, she “did think about it.”
“I’ve looked at it and felt really sad,” said Dorit Kemsley.
Dorit Kemsley Explained Why She & Her Estranged Husband Have Not Yet Spoken to Their Children About Their Separation
During a November 2024 interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Dorit Kemsley shared why she and PK Kemsley decided to not discuss their separation with their children. Dorit Kemsley said they are aware that PK Kemsley does not live in their shared Encino home. She also said her children stay in his apartment on the weekends.
“They think he’s working. He’s staying in town because he’s got a lot of work there. And as long as PK and I are friendly. And things are pretty normal for them. They are okay,” said Dorit Kemsley during the interview.
She also said that when she and PK Kemsley “decided to separate,” they were unsure if they would mend their marriage.
“So we thought why don’t we figure it out first, so when they’re asking us questions, we’ve got answers. And we also thought — I’m going to be guided by my kids. If my kids are asking me questions I’m going to be honest with them. And you kind of learn and understand what they want to hear, what they don’t. What they’re comfortable with,” said Dorit Kemsley.
Dorit Kemsley made similar comments about not speaking about the separation with her children in a November 2024 episode of the “RHOBH After Show.”
“I felt that PK and I once we have more answers that it’ll be easier to be able to bring them on the journey. Because when they have all these questions, I’ve got more answers,” said Dorit Kemsley during the interview.
Dorit Kemsley Said She Would Not Fight to Stay Married If That’s Not What Her Estranged Husband Wants
In a November 2024 episode of the “Bravo’s Hot Mic” podcast, Dorit Kemsley said her estranged husband approached her for the separation. She said while she was surprised by his decision, she agreed that being separated is for the best.
During the November 2024 “RHOBH After Show” episode, Dorit Kemsley said she was not interested in fighting to remain married if PK Kemsley wants a divorce.
“I’m not one of those women that is going to fight to stay married to someone who doesn’t want to stay married to me. I’m just not going to,” said Dorit Kemsley.
While filming the November 2024 “Watch What Happens Live” episode, Dorit Kemsley clarified that she and PK Kemsley “are friendly,” despite their split. She also said they have not taken steps toward divorce.
“We’re communicating. And things are status quo,” said Dorit Kemsley.
