Fans Share Words of Support After Mackenzie McKee Posts Tribute to Late Mother

“Teen Mom” star Mackenzie McKee shared a tribute to her late mother, Angie Douthit, on December 8.

In an Instagram post, McKee noted that her mother died on December 8, 2019, following a battle with cancer. The post featured two pictures of Douthit.

In the caption of the post, Mckee said that she wishes her mother could see her life with her children, Gannon, Jaxie, and Broncs, fathered by her ex-husband, Josh McKee.

“Another year without you! A day I will never forget. O how I wish she was here, seeing the life I worked so hard to rebuild, and her grandkids grow. I wish I could show her who I am today. The heart ache of missing you never fades mama. I love you,” wrote McKee.

Several fans flocked to the post’s comments section to share words of support.

“I know it’s hard, and even harder given how great she is 💕 I love you and pray for comfort when you’re grieving,” wrote a commenter.

“She sees you and your babies. She watches over y’all and is with y’all all the time,” added another.

“I am so so sorry…. Christmas Eve will be 7 months without my momma. It hurts so bad. Sending you love! She is sooo proud of you!” shared a different person.

“Some of the wisest words spoken on Teen Mom was by your Mom speaking to you about your struggles. I never met her in person, of course, but I was devastated when it was announced she had Cancer. And then it made me so sad when she passed. I hope those words of wisdom are a legacy that stays around forever. I know I needed to hear it, too. 💕,” chimed in another.

Mackenzie McKee’s Mother Died in 2019

People magazine reported that Douthit’s family released a statement about her death on her Instagram account in December 2019. According to the caption of the post, “Angie found out about her cancer in January 2018.” It was also mentioned that Douthit would often communicate with her social media followers on Instagram.

“She wasn’t able to sleep an entire night so she would wake up around 3am to write her posts. We watched her get up everyday in the darkest hours of the night to spread the brightest light that she knew of, her Savior Jesus Christ,” read the post’s caption. “There were times when she wrote her posts through pain and confusion. There were times at the end when she couldn’t type and would ask her daughters to type for her but she would not give up spreading the gospel message of hope. In nearly two years, she never missed her daily post…tomorrow she will.”

Mackenzie McKee Is Engaged to Khesanio Hall

McKee is currently engaged to Khesanio Hall. McKee announced her engagement in a May 2024 Instagram upload.

“I can not believe I get to marry the most amazing human on earth! My best friend. I love you so much @khezzii,” wrote McKee in the post’s caption.

In a May 2024 interview with E! News, McKee shared what she most appreciates about Hall.

“We’re coming up on two years and there hasn’t been one red flag. We make a lot of sense together. Just being around each other our very first night, it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is so compatible,'” said McKee to the publication.
