Ballerini is headlining her first arena tour and making her way to various cities across the country. On February 20, she performed at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A TikTok video captured the moment when “The Voice” coach talked to one of her fans. A boy in the crowd held up a sign that certainly grabbed her attention — and she paused the show to give him some words of support.

“I get bullied at school because I am a boy and I love you,” his sign explained. “Can we take a selfie?”

Ballerini kneeled down to tell the young fan, “I guarantee you every single person in here has had someone say something to them that has hurt their feelings.”

She continued, “And I promise you, also, the person that’s saying mean things, it’s coming from a place of insecurity. I promise, I promise. They don’t know what they don’t like about themselves and so they’re projecting it onto you.”

Ballerini joked, “That’s a big word. I know — I’ve been in so much therapy.”

“But it doesn’t make it fair and it doesn’t make it right,” the singer noted. “And I’m really sorry that if anyone’s ever said anything mean to you, that’s not okay.”

“The Voice” coach added, “But you’re okay. You’re more than okay. Are you having a good time? That’s all I care about.”

Fans Loved the Sweet Interaction

The country star posed for a selfie with the fan as the crowd cheered his name.

“Do you hear all your friends right now? These are all your friends,” Ballerini told him. “Don’t forget that. We got you.”

She added, “We have him, right? That makes me want to cry.”

Fans reacted to the TikTok video, leaving comments applauding Ballerini for giving the fan a pep talk.

“We really, truly made the perfect person famous,” one person noted. “She’s such a gem.”

Others wrote, “The way she just changed the boys whole life ✨” and “the crowd chanting his name is the sweetest thing.”

Another fan shared, “I was there and I sobbed because I was once that little boy obsessed with female country artists and it hit HARD. What a night.”
