TikTok star Addison Rae is getting fans even more “Obsessed” with her after releasing her debut single on Friday (March 19).
According to her interview with Vogue, “Obsessed” isn’t just a vanity project from a social media sensation; it’s her own assurance of self-love.
“I’m so grateful and extremely excited to show everyone what I’ve been working on for the past year. I’m so incredibly proud of what we’ve created and I can’t believe I finally get to share it with y’all!” Rae said in an official statement, later adding on her Instagram, “I’m so emotional right now. this song makes me feel so many things!!! I love music. that’s all.”
Rae (full name: Addison Rae Easterling) already knows how to grow a following across platforms, amassing 78.4 million TikTok followers and becoming the second most-followed person on the app at just 20 years old. So it’s no surprise that the TikTok choreography-filled accompanying visual for the dance-pop song, which was directed by Diane Martel (Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay), is already No. 6 on YouTube’s trending videos. And for the song, she enlisted a dream team of producers who’ve taken hits to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, including Benny Blanco, Blake Slatkin and Ryan McMahon.
