Taylor Swift effect: Travis Kelce podcast gets 1M extra YouTube views than previous week

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has swiftly catapulted into the limelight over a decade into his NFL career.
Sure, he has two Super Bowl championships and is regarded by many as one of the greatest tight ends to ever play. But the Cincinnati Bearcats legend has recently gotten an even bigger reputation, thanks to the Taylor Swift effect.
Following rumors around a potential romance between the two stars, the 12-time Grammy winner attended Kelce's game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. In the days since, the Cleveland Heights, Ohio, native has received unprecedented levels of attention.
Kelce's jersey will never go out of style
The day after the pop star made an appearance at the Chiefs' game, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, they were selling limited edition Kelce jerseys.
"Swifties! Why limit yourselves to concert tees when you (could) sport a limited edition (Bearcats) jersey and fully support (Taylor Swift's) new boo," the team wrote. "Be Fearless!"
According to TMZ Sports, just 24 hours after Swift graced the stands, Kelce's NFL jersey sales increased 400% across the Fanatics network, making it one of the five highest-selling jerseys over that span.
Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' podcast tops charts
"New Heights," a podcast hosted by Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, dropped a new episode Sept. 27. As of Sept. 29, it was No. 4 on the Apple Podcasts Top Episodes chart. The show also ranked No. 1 among all podcasts on Apple.
"How does it feel that Taylor Swift finally put you on the map?" Jason asked his younger brother on the show.
"Shoutout to Taylor for pulling up," Travis said. "I just thought it was awesome that everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family. She looked amazing."
To no one's surprise, the YouTube version of the Sept. 27 podcast episode also attracted quite a few more viewers. As of Sept. 29, it had approximately 1.9 million views, compared to the episode from the previous week that had approximately 722,000 views.
(It's good to note, the brothers' Sept. 6 episode featuring Jason's wife, Kylie, racked up 2.5 million views on YouTube. But other recent episodes ranged from approximately 442,000-934,000 views.)
Only time will tell if the Chiefs tight end will be the Heartbreak Prince to everybody's favorite Miss Americana.
