A mother, a homemaker, a journalist, a philanthropist and an interior
designer Suchhanda Chatterjee, has taken on the role of film producer
at Quest after designing "114 restaurants" for Speciality Restaurants
ltd.
Chatterjee ventured into writing when she was 18. Unkahi, one of these stories, was made into a short film that won awards at various film festivals, including Best Short Film at the Beijing International Film Festival.
Later, Chatterjee served as a creative producer for Zee5's anthology Forbidden Love, directed by four leading filmmakers, Pradeep Sarkar, Priyadarshan, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, and Mahesh Manjrekar.
In 2018, She founded Quest Films to deliver compelling stories across all mediums at any given scale. 'Bittersweet' based on the plight of women in the politics-ridden sugarcane industry, became a mission, more than a movie, leading them to their highly acclaimed debut production. The film went to several acclaimed film festivals including the official entry for the Cannes' Marche Du Film 2021.
Aparna Sen Directorial 'The Rapist' produced by Quest Films, is the only Indian film to win the prestigious Kim Jesouk Award at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival.
Her recent production 'The Storyteller', a feature film adaptation of Satyajit Ray's short story "Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro", is going through a stellar festival run with a world premiere at Busan International Film Festival 2022, and upcoming selections in Indian Panorama IFFI 2022, Kerala International Film Festival 2022 and Palm Spring International Film Festival 2022.
Recently She expanded her film production umbrella with a new vertical called 'Ishtaa Films', which has already started working on big scale production value ventures.
Moreover, she founded an NGO "Purnasha" for her philanthropic work. With a keen eye for detail, a creative mind & an artistic soul, being at the helm of a booming long & short-form content production house came naturally to her.
