Hallmark Alum Mourns Ex-Husband by Sharing Touching Photo of Him & Their Daughter

A beloved Hallmark alum’s ex-husband has passed away, and she and other Hallmark stars, friends, and family are sharing heartfelt tributes to his memory.
Julian McMahon, 56, died July 2 in Clearwater, Florida, his wife Kelly McMahon told Deadline. McMahon had been married to Hallmark alum Brooke Burns, 47, from 1999 to 2001, People reported. They had a daughter together, Madison McMahon, who is now 25.

Burns is well known among Hallmark stars for starring opposite Warren Christie in “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” She’s also known for starring in the “Gourmet Detective” franchise opposite Dylan Neal, along with “Undercover Bridesmaid” and “Christmas Connection.” Burns has been married to screenwriter and director Gavin O’Connor since 2013, People reported.
Burns posted a sweet photo on Instagram of McMahon with their daughter and simply wrote, “Rest in Peace.”
Kristoffer Polaha replied with a touching note of support, writing, “I’m praying for you and Maddy as you and her especially grieve this out.”
Other friends, social media followers, and colleagues also replied with words of love and support.
Ellen K of the Ellen K Morning Show wrote, “Brooke💔Sending you our love and prayers❤️🙏🏻.”
Kam Maby replied, “My love to you and Maddie. I can’t imagine how difficult this must be 💔. Love you.”
Sharon Grace wrote, “My heart broke into a million pieces hearing this news. I will always cherish my memories with Jules and the fam during Halloween time. Sorry for your loss. Please give Maddy a super big hug for me. 🤍”
McMahon’s last public words to his daughter were words of support and encouragement. In March, she shared a video of herself teaching her first yoga class. Julian McMahon replied, “Your awesome!” And she jokingly replied, “no YOU’RE awesome,” playfully referring to his grammar mistake.
Julian McMahon Died from Cancer
In a statement shared with Deadline, Kelly Paniagua McMahon said her husband died after a private battle with cancer.
She wrote, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer. Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”
McMahon had a long history of impressive TV and movie roles, including 43 episodes of “FBI: Most Wanted” as Jess LaCroix, 19 episodes of “Runaways” as Jonah, “Childhood’s End,” the lead character on “Nip/Tuck” for 100 episodes, Dr. Doom on “Fantastic Four,” Cole Turner on “Charmed” for 47 episodes, and more.
“Charmed” co-star Holly Marie Combs wrote a loving tribute to McMahon on Instagram, sharing: “One of a kind is an understatement. Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humor will be sorely missed. The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered. I hope you find our lady friend and dance in those rose petals. 🌹”
