Hallmark Star Says ‘Negotiations’ Are Underway to Reboot Popular Movie Franchise

Four years after Hallmark Channel premiered the last of six “Wedding March” movies starring Jack Wagner and Josie Bissett, the popular franchise may be making a return.
On March 22, 2025, Wagner dropped the news while appearing on the “Still This Place” podcast, hosted by his former “Melrose Place” co-stars (and Hallmark alums) Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, and Courtney Thorne-Smith.
Jack Wagner Says He & Josie Bissett May Be ‘Rebooting’ Hallmark Channel Franchise

Hallmark Channel’s “Wedding March” movies aired from 2016 to 2021. Wagner, 63, and Bissett, 54, who also appeared on “Melrose Place” in the 90s, starred as Mick and Olivia — college sweethearts who reunited after 25 years and wind up running a wedding resort together.
The duo didn’t get to know each other well when they were both starring on “Melrose Place,” he told Zuniga, Leighton and Thorne-Smith, but they forged a great connection while filming with Hallmark.
“She is the quirkiest, funniest — I mean, we just hit it off so much,” he said. “We had this really nice run of movies. I think, you know, there’s a chance that we may be rebooting the franchise. You know, I’m in negotiations now.”
“It was so great to work with Josie on such a different level (than ‘Melrose Place’),” Wagner added.
Will Jack Wagner Also Be Part of ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot?

Between a possible “Wedding March” reboot and filming season 13 of “When Calls The Heart,” it’s unclear if Wagner would also have time to be part of the much-buzzed-about “Melrose Place” reboot, which members of the cast confirmed in September is in the works.
Bissett was part of a panel at 90s Con in September when Zuniga revealed that all of the cast members on stage, including Leighton, Heather Locklear, and Brooke Langston, had agreed to be part of a series reboot, but added that previous reports of the new show being a done deal were “premature.”
In early March, Wagner told Us Weekly that he was open to returning for a reboot if it’s done well.
“You have to bring on young, new actors,” Wagner told the outlet. “It can’t be all about us. I don’t know what the longevity or interest in that would be. It would be more about a few of us probably starting the storylines out, letting them take place, and then branching off into who their children are now or where they are.”
At the end of the podcast with Zuniga, Leighton and Thorne-Smith, Leighton said, “Well, we’re so excited that we got this excuse to see you,” and then coyly added, “and that we, um, have every reason to see you again soon!”
