When you have a family secret to hide it isn’t the best time to do media promotions of a new film. Anil Kapoor’s third-born, Harshvardhan Kapoor found himself in a classic Bollywood dilemma—how to promote a new film and dodge questions on his sister’s impending wedding?
Harshvardhan’s family offered him a solution: they volunteered to withhold the wedding dates until he finishes with his media promotions of his new film Bhavesh Joshi .
The Bhavesh Joshi producers Phantom on their part volunteered to put aside the media promotions until Sonam’s wedding to Anand Ahuja on May 8.
However Harshvardhan decided to tackle the sensitive situation headlong.
“He told his parents to go ahead and announce the wedding date just a few days ahead of the release function for the trailer of Bhavesh Joshi and he told his producers to not postpone the trailer release. In addition Harshvardhan asked his team not to monitor the media queries on his sister’s wedding. He was ready to take them on,” says a source close to the Kapoors.
Says the source, “Harshvardhan tackled the questions like a pro. We must understand that at this point in time when his sister’s wedding is a talking point his new film would get optimum notice.”
For those who came in late the young Kapoor’s debut film Mirzya in 2016 was a colossal flop. Harshvardhan desperately needs his second film to succeed.
