Henry Cavill’s $200 Million Action Hit With Rebecca Ferguson Is a Global Streaming Sensation

Rebecca Ferguson is back in the spotlight thanks to her role in the new hit Netflix movie, A House of Dynamite, but one of the best movies in her filmography has resurfaced at the top of streaming charts. Ferguson stars alongside Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Tom Cruise (Top Gun: Maverick) in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the sixth installment in Cruise’s legendary spy franchise that follows Ethan Hunt’s quest to save the world with the odds stacked against him. Mission: Impossible – Fallout has returned to streaming charts globally, where it’s back in the top 10 in countries such as Austria and Indonesia.

In America, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is streaming on Paramount+, where it isn’t likely to leave anytime soon, considering the franchise’s deep ties to Paramount. The film earned a nearly perfect 98% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and it also earned a solid 89% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter from over 10,000 certified reviews. It even grossed $824 million at the global box office against a $178 million budget, making it a massive financial success. Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Angela Bassett also have roles in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, along with Sean Harris, Vanessa Kirby, and Alec Baldwin.

Christopher McQuarrie wrote and directed Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and Bruce Geller once again earned a writing credit for his work creating the original TV series on which the film franchise is based. McQuarrie and Cruise have become regular collaborators since they began working together nearly 20 years ago. McQuarrie has directed every Mission: Impossible movie since Rogue Nation, and he’s even writing the script for the third Top Gun movie, which is in active development but does not have an official release date.

Is the New ‘Mission: Impossible’ Movie on Streaming?

The new Mission: Impossible movie, The Final Reckoning, is not yet streaming on Paramount+. It is, however, available to rent on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Fandango at Home. Considering it first hit theaters nearly six months ago, its streaming release date announcement could be coming any day now. Paramount reportedly spent around $400 million making The Final Reckoning, so it only makes sense that the studio would like to spend as much time recuperating from this before it dumps it on streaming. Still, The Final Reckoning’s Paramount+ debut will certainly bring in a few extra subscribers.

Be sure to watch Mission: Impossible – Fallout on Paramount+ in America and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
